Lushi chicken is one of the three best breeders in Henan (two of which are Gushi chicken and Zhengyang three yellow chicken). It is an ancient chicken breed suitable for mountain stocking. Lushi chickens are light, sturdy and resistant to rough feeding. Their living habits and meat quality are very similar to those of pheasants. They were included in the "Chinese Livestock and Poultry Breeds" as early as the 1980s.
